COLORIS SUR LA BAIE INC.

FAREWELL AND THANK YOU!

Colours on the Bay signs this message of acknowledgement and farewell with great regret but  equally great pride.

On October 29 and 30 last, Colours on the Bay hosted the sixth and last edition of its annual art show.  The success attained over the years was the result of the true dedication of a small team of volunteers who never hesitated to spend time and energy to fulfill the mission of the organization which was to promote the arts in the region and more particularly in Clarence-Rockland.

The well known reputation of Colours on the Bay and the  high caliber status of its art show rest on the moral qualities and values which it  adopted  and which are included in its Constitution. Furthermore, integrity and accountability have always been a driving force for all the members of the Board of Administration of Colours on the Bay. These members, past and present, are truly proud of the social image they have projected at home and elsewhere.   The comments received by art lovers, the public in general and by the artists are an undeniable  proof of the quality of this annual art show and vouch for the talent and professionalism of its artists throughout the years.

Colours on the Bay wishes to acknowledge its honorary presidents, i.e. Ely Kish, Pierrette Dulude-Bohay, Charles Spratt, Bernard Poulin, Yves Larocque, Jacqueline Gougeon and is proud of the excellent array of its artists, all selected by jury, who have offered our population a  mosaic of artworks of a professional quality.

A non-profit organization and true to one of its fundamental values which is to financially assist deserving community groups, Colours on the Bay has donated  more than 54 000 $ over the years.  These donations stem from the generosity of artists who have paid a commission on the sale of artworks, the sale of tickets for the draw of paintings donated by exhibiting artists and the sale of items donated by local and regional merchants for our silent auctions.

Colours on the Bay is proud of the role its board members played in the community and of the artistic and economic spin offs.   However, a challenge to art-lovers to take over the organization of an annual art show was fruitless.   It is therefore with great regret that Colours on the Bay dissolves the Corporation and bids farewell.

We, the members of the Board of Directors wish to acknowledge all the artists, art lovers, visitors, sponsors, friends, volunteers, members of the media and all those who have supported us and trusted us during the last six years.  Your cooperation is what made us fulfill our mission and attain our objectives.  We hope that arts will always be a shining star in our community and we wish all artists a well deserved success.
